Building responsibly: how SAPP approaches sustainability and ethical manufacturing
ISO 14001, SMETA, recycled steel, FSC-certified timber and GreenTag-certified products: how sustainability is built into the way SAPP manufactures.

Retail programs are getting bigger and faster, and so is the responsibility that comes with them. At SAPP, sustainability isn't a separate initiative. It's built into how we design, source and manufacture every fixture and display.
Certified management systems
- ISO 14001: our environmental management system is ISO 14001 accredited, so environmental impact is measured and managed across our operations.
- ISO 9001: our quality management system is ISO 9001 certified, so every program is delivered to a consistent, audited standard.
- SMETA: our operations are audited against SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), which covers labour standards, health and safety, environment and business ethics in the supply chain.
Better materials
Where it suits the design, we specify recycled steel and FSC-certified timber, and we run efficient production processes that cut waste. Owning our 60,000 sqm factory in Dongguan means we control those choices directly, rather than relying on third-party suppliers.
Independently certified products
Our PayPost payment mounting range and modular service desk have been assessed under the Global GreenTag program, which checks factors such as low formaldehyde and VOC emissions, freedom from toxic substances of concern, and the availability of replacement parts. That gives clients independent evidence to support their own green building and procurement requirements.
Designing for a longer life
The most sustainable fixture is the one you don't have to replace. Modular systems, interchangeable mounts and replaceable parts let retailers update products, brands or devices without scrapping a whole display. In our Bunnings Smart Home program, for example, interchangeable product mounts mean ranges can be updated without replacing the complete display.
Ethical trade
We also publish a Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement, which sets out how we assess and address modern slavery risk in our operations and supply chain.
